When they arrived at the scene, they found 18-year-old Rodriguez Burrell with several gunshot wounds. He died at the hospital.
Tuesday night, officers passed out flyers at the intersection of Haywood and Cabarrus Streets and stopped motorists asking questions about the shooting.
Police say they are hoping someone comes forward with information about the case or call CrimeStoppers at 919-226-CRIME.
