ROCKY MOUNT They say he shot himself with a pistol, but are not releasing any other details as to when and where on his body he shot himself.

The incident began Monday when officers surrounded a home on Dana Lane in Rocky Mount shortly after 1 p.m.

Authorities told Eyewitness News they tried to serve multiple warrants on 22-year-old Thomas Rose when Rose allegedly fired shots at officers. Rose then barricaded himself inside the home, which belongs to one of his friends.

At least 60 officers from surrounding agencies and SWAT were involved in the two-day standoff that lasted nearly 20 hours.
