Man charged in attempted murder-for-hire

Authorities stop a murder-for-hire plot in Raleigh. According to arrest warrants, Kevin Branch of Wake Forest solicited John Thomas Streat to kill Michelle Magdalene Morgan Lopez.

It is not known how Branch and Lopez know each other, and details surrounding the plot have not been released.

Branch is charged with solicitation to commit first-degree murder, assault on a female, kidnapping and communicating threats. He is being held in the Wake County jail under a $550,000 bond.

Streat is also charged with a probation violation.
