According to police, Watson was driving when he lost control of his vehicle while traveling south on Sunnybrook Rd. and collided head-on with a minivan that was traveling north.
Jones was a student at Southeast Raleigh High School.
Three other passengers were in Watson's car, but they did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
