Traffic alert for I-540 drivers

They'll work on the section between US 70 and I-40 in Wake and Durham counties.

They'll resurface the road and ramps and reconstruct the highway shoulders starting Wednesday.

Crews will work between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Officials say federal stimulus money is paying for the work.

The improvements should be finished by May.
