Police make drug arrest at homicide location

ROCKY MOUNT While officers were at 2104 Travis Run in Rocky Mount, they arrested 39-year-old Bennie Evans and 18-year-old Rodriguez Evans on drug related charges.

Officers seized 16 grams of marijuana worth $188.66, two shotguns, alcohol products, and drug paraphernalia.

Bennie Evans was charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, selling alcohol without a permit, maintaining a dwelling, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

He is currently under a $300,000 bond.

Rodriguez Evans was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and received a $2,000 secured bond.

Authorities were originally at the home to further investigate the homicide of 17-year-old Jermaine Larquez Lynch.

Police were told on Sept. 9, Lynch saw a robbery at the house and tried to run away when he was shot in the upper body. He later dead at the hospital.
