Counties 'blitz' swine flu

RALEIGH

Even if you're not in a high risk group, anyone can now get the vaccine.

In Wake County, a blitz of vaccine clinics are open.

The clinics at multiple locations will target people of all age - especially groups of already a concern.

"That younger population has been consistently the most vulnerable to this the whole time, and that's why we've had them as one of the priority groups," explained Wake Health Director Sue Lynn Ledford.

Pregnant women are also a priority and there are new efforts to reach out to the Hispanic community.

A third wave of the H1N1 virus is expected early this year. That's all the more reason - health officials say - to ask yourself one question:

"Why would someone choose to be sick for 5 to 7 days when they could take of this in 15 minutes?" said Ledford.
