Easley's secret e-mail account was based on the fictional character "Nick Danger."
Easley has been criticized for using his personal account for state business and for allegedly instructing his staff to delete e-mails.
Public records requests have since poured in media outlets requesting access to Easley's private account while he was governor.
But the current governor says when it comes to her e-mail it's a different story.
"I have a private e-mail account and everything that mentions anything about state business is archived," Perdue said. "We are very careful, I can promise you we are very careful and anytime we have a public records request we also service my Gmail account."
Perdue says she carries a personal Blackberry - paid for out of her pocket - and her staff is working to give her access to state e-mail on it.
