Raleigh man arrested for indecent liberties

BURLINGTON, N.C. Burlington Police say Bryant Dennis, 59, of 2719 Crestline Avenue in Raleigh, was parked with his car's headlights off when a police officer passed by.

That's when officials say the car's headlights came on and the car took off. Police initiated a traffic stop after observing the vehicle with no license plate. A 14-year-old girl was inside the car.

A short investigation by Burlington Police detectives led them to arrest Dennis on charges of statutory sex offense, indecent liberties, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police say Dennis had been chatting with the 14-year-old girl online, and had travelled from Raleigh to Burlington to meet her.

Dennis is being held in the Alamance County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond.
