It happened Monday in Greene County near the town of Walstonburg. The suspect ran into the woods after zapping the trooper. Helicopters and K-9s joined a search for 22-year-old Nathaniel Eugene Hope, but they have not found him.
The incident started with a traffic stop. According to the highway patrol, Trooper Billy Beanman stopped a car driven by a 19-year-old woman, who was wanted for a theft that happened earlier that day.
During that stop, Hope got out of the car and fought with Trooper Beanman. That's when Hope allegedly grabbed the Taser and used it on the officer.
Trooper Beanman was treated for a minor head injury and scratches.
