Crash kills NC man on I-40
NEW MEXICO
Police say Ferraz was traveling east on I-40 in his 2003 Toyota when he drove into the median for an unknown reason, Ferraz attempted to regain control driving the car into a clockwise spin.
The momentum of the car continued in an eastbound direction through the median into the pathway of a westbound Peterbuilt.
The 2006 semi driven by 42-year-old Aaron Thomas of Colorado Springs sustained slight damage where the Toyota was totaled.
Police say Jose Ferraz was pronounced dead at the scene. Thomas wasn't injured in the crash.
Seatbelts were worn and alcohol has been ruled out as a contributing factor in this crash.
