Troopers say 33-year-old Wendell Burwell died after he ran from the shoulder of the interstate into the side of a truck. The tractor-trailer was traveling in the northbound lane.
The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. Saturday near mile marker 146, which is north of Rocky Mount.
Authorities have not provided additional information about the incident, nor have they said why Burwell was naked.
