Former Nifong investigator arrested

DURHAM

According to court documents, deputies served Wilson with a felony extradition warrant stemming from alleged harassment of his estranged wife in Delaware.

The order, coming from a Kent, Delaware magistrate, says the alleged offenses happened between May 12 and Thursday.

The documents say Wilson is charged with stalking obscenity. On June 1, Wilson allegedly sent his wife an instant message that said in part, "'til death do we part remember your wedding vows ... you never know the day or the time."

Warrants also reveal Wilson later mailed two DVD's to his estranged wife depicting her engaged in a sexual act with him. Before that he allegedly e-mailed nude photos of his wife to her sister.

Warrants describe about a dozen more e-mail encounters, even after authorities issued a protective order.

On Friday, Wilson was taken to jail where he was later released on a $1,000 bond. He has a court date scheduled in Durham on Monday morning.

Wilson and his wife separated in April after 18 years of marriage. Before that his wife says Wilson intimidated her numerous times and threatened to kill her with a gun.

She says after the Duke Lacrosse case, his behavior, "... changed for the worse."

In 2006, Crystal Gail Mangum --an NC Central student who worked as a stripper-- accused three Duke Lacrosse players of rape during a house party.

In 2007, Wilson resigned over improperly handling the Duke Lacrosse case.

The three players who were charged with raping Mangum were later exonerated and Nifong was disbarred.

Wilson is now one of several people named in at least three pending lawsuits stemming from the case.
