Edmonds, the mother of small children, was reportedly approached in the parking lot of a motel after Deputy Josh Clark noticed that she was intoxicated.
It was later determined, officials report, her small children had been left unattended in a motel room that was deemed an "unhealthy environment."
The Halifax County Department of Social Services assisted Clark in removing the children from Edmond's care. Edmonds was jailed in lieu of posting a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 28.
