Suspects use victim's gun to rob victim

HALIFAX COUNTY

According to authorities, the victim told deputies two men entered his home and demanded money between midnight and 1 a.m. Friday. The suspects allegedly assaulted the man and took his gun.

The victim says the men locked him in a shed outside his home while they searched his home. Although they didn't find any money, they took the victim's 20 gauge shotgun.

Deputies arrested 19-year-old Courtney James and 40-year-old Michael Ward -- both of Enfield.

Both men are charged with first-degree attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and attempted larceny. They are in the Halifax County Jail under a $100,000 and are expected to appear in court on August 4.
