A trooper with the Highway Patrol says 14-year-old Derrick Scott of Hillsborough was riding his bike and failed to stop at a stop sign when he ran into side of a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Micheal Parker of Hurdle Mills.
Scott was rushed to Duke Medical Center where he's listed in critical condition.
An eyewitness says she believes Scott nearly hit her 20 minutes before the accident. She says she reported what happened to authorities.
