Suspect wanted in attempted bank robbery

RALEIGH The suspect entered the Wachovia bank on Falls of Neuse Road around 12:45 p.m. and approached a teller.

Authorities say he had a note announcing the robbery and implied he was armed with a weapon. However, the suspect left the bank before completing the robbery. He was last seen fleeing the area on foot.

The suspect is described as an African American man in his early 20s with a slender build who stands between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall. He has close-cut hair and was wearing sunglasses, a gray or off-white colored T-shirt and blue jeans.
