Suicidal man in standoff with Raleigh police

Police were called to a home in the 500 block of Hertford Street Tuesday afternoon after a man was claiming he was going to harm himself.The call came in around 1:30 p.m. Authorities secured the entire area around the home located inside the Beltline on the north side of the Carolina County Club.

The standoff ended peacefully around 6:30 p.m. Further details about the incident have not been released.

The $1.5 million house is owned by 66-year-old Harold Blondeau.

Last month, a federal judge sentenced him to three years in prison for taking nearly $3 million from a then-83-year-old Raleigh woman.

Blondeau is waiting to be shipped-off to a federal prison.

He's also a former NC State basketball player.
