Fort Bragg soldier killed in Afghanistan

FORT BRAGG Sergeant Jason James McCluskey, 26 of McAlester, Okla., died Nov. 4 of wounds he sustained from small arms fire while conducting dismounted route clearance at Zarghun Shahr, Mohammad Agha district, Afghanistan.

McCluskey was assigned to the 264th Route Clearance Company, 27th Engineer Battalion, 20th Engineer Brigade.

McCluskey enlisted in the Army in 2006. He served as a combat engineer during route clearance operations. McCluskey was on his second deployment at the time of his death.

A memorial and funeral arrangements for McCluskey have not yet been determined.
