Durham police trying to identify robbery suspect

DURHAM Authorities say a man entered the Fast Food Mart on Chapel Hill Road shortly before 7 p.m. and placed a backpack on the counter. The man demanded money and told employees the backpack contained a bomb.

The Bomb Squad from the Durham County Sheriff's Office came to the scene and determined that the backpack did not contain an explosive device.

Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Smith at 560-4583, ext. 29366 or CrimeStoppers at 683-1200. CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases and callers never have to identify themselves.
