UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Handing a trooper a dirty diaper was the wrong move. Authorities in Pennsylvania charge the diaper given to Trooper Stefani Plume had pot hidden inside it. The trooper had pulled over India Banks. Plume says she thought it was odd that Banks handed her a wet diaper and asked the officer to put it in a garbage bag. Banks was in court for a hearing this week. She'll enter a special probation program for first time offenders. Bank's record will be wiped clean in the case of the dirty diaper, if she stays out of trouble.
PANDA CUB
ATLANTA (AP) - It's a boy! Experts at Zoo Atlanta finally know the sex of a
panda cub born more than two weeks ago. The zoo's veterinary team and an expert
from China got a chance to examine the little guy yesterday. The panda mama has
started leaving him for short times to eat and drink. The vets say the panda cub
weighs just over eleven ounces. While his eyes aren't open yet, the baby panda
has started to develop the distinctive black patches under his eyes and on his
shoulders. The zoo has yet to name their new panda.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) - A firefighters' chili cookoff is being put on ice.
Health officials in the New York City suburb of Rockland County told volunteer

than 30 home kitchens. The firefighters' own ads got them into trouble. A health
inspector looked into the chili cook-off after seeing publicity about it.
ONLINE COLLEGE HOOKUPS
CALIFORNIA, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania college student wants to help with
hookups. Tyler Normile says he's creating a Web site for students looking for
casual sexual encounters. He's a junior at the California University of
Pennsylvania, majoring in network security. Normile has registered a domain name
using an acronym that's not suitable for broadcast. He tells a local paper
(Observer-Reporter) his site's slogan is, "Safer than Craigslist and cheaper
than bars." Normile's plans were first reported by the school's newspaper. A
spokeswoman for the university stresses the site is not affiliated with the
school.
