But for a true measure of the parade's impact, see someone like Cheryl Jackson of Cary. She's lived there for 16 years.
"I came here to the first aprade when we moved here...from Illinois," Jackson said. "I'm from Connecticut."
Some even saw their first Christmas parade Saturday.
"Well, he's waiting on Santa Claus," said Brandy Griffith of her three-year-old son. "He wants to see him."
For many, Santa Claus is the main attraction on a brisk, fun-filled Saturday before Thanksgiving. A reminder that Christmas is almost here.
