Teen charged with tainting father's food

CLAYTON

Tashoya Assata Williams, 18, a student at Smithfield-Selma High School, was arrested Sunday and charged with distributing food with noxious material.

It's a little known state law, but also a felony offense.

According to investigators, Williams placed household cleaner in a milk carton, and Pine Sol cleaner in a rice cooker.

After her arrest, deputies say the teen admitted to placing a fly, sink water, and dirt in the milk container, spitting in her father's water container, and wiping Pine Sol on a towel then wiping it on the edge of the rice cooker.

Investigators say Williams was likely angry because her father attempted to discipline her after finding inappropriate material on her boyfriend's Facebook page.

Bond was set at $5,000.
