HS basketball team targeted by thieves

CREEDMOOR A group of players participating in the Christian Faith basketball program in Creedmoor are missing iPods, computers, cash and jewelry.

Authorities say it appears someone ransacked a home where the players are staying as the team practiced Monday evening. The players and their coach say they noticed something was wrong right when they walked through the front door.

"Everyone ran to their room to see if anything was gone and that's when they started yelling, 'my iPad is gone, my Xbox is gone, my laptop is gone,'" Christian Faith Academy Coach Ro Russell said.

The players are from Canada and say they pretty much lost everything they own, including stuff they need for school.

The Creedmoor Police Department is currently investigating.
