Raleigh chase ends in fatal motorcycle crash

ZEBULON The chase started around 11:20 pm- when a deputy with the Wake County Sheriff's Office attempted to stop a motorcyclist for speeding at 133 mph on Interstate 40 in Raleigh.

Authorities say the motorcyclist did not stop and continued to travel onto US 64 in Zebulon.

During the pursuit, the suspect lost control and hit a guardrail on US 64. The driver of the motorcycle died on the scene.

It is not known why the motorcyclist ran from the law.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the driver involved in the chase.
