The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said David Wise, 59, of 912 Fredonia Drive was shot to death Tuesday evening.
Deputies say it happened at the home off Elliot Bridge Road between 9:30 and 10 p.m.
Wise's wife, 37-year-old Melanie Lynn Wise, made a 911 call for help.
When investigators arrived, they say they found Mrs. Wise distraught and claiming she shot her husband in self-defense.
The investigation continues.
