Car flips after colliding with truck

FAYETTEVILLE The accident happened around 10 a.m. at the intersection of Ramsey and Rowan streets near downtown Fayetteville.

Authorities say a white Dodge Caliber stuck a blue Chevrolet pick-up truck as it swerved to the right when approaching the intersection. The impact caused the car to flip over.

Two passengers, 52-year-old Mary Wortham and 62-year-old Jenny McLinnaham, inside the car were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the car, 52-year-old Thomas Dean, and the driver of the pick-up, 64-year-old Joseph Gillis, were not injured.

Authorities have charged Dean with driving with license revoked and failure to reduce speed in order to avoid accident.

He also had an outstanding order for arrest for the same, unrelated charges.
