The Fayetteville Police Department said Erica Gainey "may have met with foul play."
In a news release, a department spokesperson said Gainey was last seen the morning of June 28 in the company of acquaintance Terry Dale Robinson. Later that morning, Robinson was seen in a store in Harrells, NC purchasing bleach and mothballs.
Robinson was driving Gainey's 2003 White Hyundai Elantra at the time.
Gainey is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and approximately 135 pounds. Anyone with information on her whereabouts or has information concerning her disappearance is asked to call detectives (910) 433-1421 ext. 2329 or CrimeStoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
