Fire breaks out at Cary nursing home

CARY, N.C. According to officials with the Town of Cary, firefighters initially didn't see anything when they arrived on scene, but quickly found fire and smoke coming from one of the rooms inside the Cary Health and Rehabilitation Center on Tryon Road.

Additional EMS units were immediately called to help evacuate patients at the facility.

Firefighters were able to knock the fire down quickly, containing it to just that one room.

Some people were moved back into the building as smoke cleared, but six people had to be transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

There is no word yet on a cause.
