Bragg soldier dies after running in heat

FORT BRAGG

The Army says 82nd Airborne Division paratrooper Sergeant Joshua Mann died of a heat-related injury he suffered during a run Friday morning.

Officials tell Eyewitness News that it was 79 degrees during the run, but it felt like 82 degrees. Because of the Sergeant's death, all runs have been scaled back to four miles and slowed down to a pace of nine minutes a mile.

Mann was a Nebraska native and is survived by his wife and parents.
