"Well, the kids don't have anywhere else to go and it's hot," mother LaChelle Scarborough said.
For the next two days Chalmers Pool is off limits and closed for repairs.
Leanna Frazier says she will probably take her children to the movies or the library to stay cool while the pool is out of commission.
She's not alone. Lifeguards say on any given day when the city pool is open, there are hundreds of children splashing and having fun.
The water main that supplies the pool's water is leaking.
The pool's managers said they noticed a drop in the pool's water level.
"I just noticed the levels were lower than normal," Manager Santana Frischbier said. "I get a phone call today saying it was exceptionally low, so we turned the water on and it wasn't getting any better."
The city says the pool will have to close Wednesday and Thursday while crews repair the water line.
