According to an ABC11 crew on the scene, the victim's mother called 911 after the woman was shot at an apartment on East Main Street.
Police say an altercation that happened earlier in the day led to the shooting, but it is not a domestic issue.
Police are searching for a suspect but have not provided any additional details.
