Twenty-five-year-old Shekeyta Denyal Spells is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
The shooting happened around 3:00 a.m. near the intersection of Capital Boulevard and Starmount Drive.
Authorities said Antoinette Lashay Jackson, 20, was shot in the neck and was taken to WakeMed for treatment.
Jackson was listed in critical condition Sunday morning.
