The accident happened at 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Reilly and Cliffdale Roads.
Investigators said Danie Roberts, of the 7100 Block of Chin Oak Dr., was trying to cross Reilly when he stepped in front of the oncoming truck.
He was taken to Cape Fear Valley hospital.
Police said the driver of the truck was not charged.
