Flasher reported in south Durham

DURHAM

The latest incident happened on the Woodcroft trail near Copper Hill Court.

Several women told officers that a male exposed himself on the trail adjacent to Woodcroft Parkway shortly after 7 p.m. One woman told officers the male attempted to grab her arm but she screamed and ran away.

The suspect was described as a black male in his late 20s or early 30s, 6 feet tall and approximately 180 pounds. He was wearing a dark winter coat, blue jeans and a dark ball cap.

Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Wheeler at (919) 560-4583, ext. 29370.

The flasher report follows similar incidents along the American Tobacco Trail in the same area in October.

But in those cases, the suspect was described as a white male wearing only a small hat. He was approximately 6 feet tall and in his 30s.

The Durham Police Department warned people using public biking and walking trails to:

  • Call 911 to report any suspicious activity
  • Walk in well-lit areas that are not isolated
  • Do not walk alone at night
  • Be aware of your surroundings
