Boy drowned at waste water treatment plant

SEABOARD, N.C.

The Roanoke Rapids Daily Herald reported the boy was playing with a group of children between the pools and fell in the water. The children reportedly tried to help rescue the boy, but were unable to do so.

Authorities searched Friday night, but had to call off the search due to lightning. Officials resumed the search Saturday morning and found the boy's body shortly before 11:30 a.m.

The boy's name has not been released.
