Investigators said the truck driver lost control in a curve while headed east.
The vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and into a ditch, causing the vehicle to overturn on its right side.
Progress Energy power lines were damaged and some residents were briefly left without power.
NC24 was shut down for just under an hour while crews removed the wreckage. The driver was not seriously injured.
He was identified as 31-year-old Kison Miller of Wallace, NC. He was charged with failure to maintain lane control.
