It happened around 4:38 p.m. by Lochmere Drive, near Kildaire Farm Road and Southeast Cary Parkway.
Police said several people saw what looked like a person floating in the lake.
When authorities arrived, they pulled a man out of the water who appeared to be wearing jogging clothes.
He was taken to WakeMed for treatment.
There's no information about the man's condition or identity.
