With a slightly improving economic picture, Wake County Manager David Cooke said the county will have an extra $22 million to work with without any tax increase.
The budge will Wake County Schools an extra $3.9 million. That's less than half what the school board had requested to cover its shortfall because of state cuts.
The county will also spend an additional $5.9 million on public safety.
