The first fire broke out around 5:45 p.m. at an apartment building in the 500 block of Cutchen Lane. Fire authorities believe the fire started in a bedroom in a first floor unit.
Everyone living in the 24 unit complex had to seek shelter elsewhere for the night.
The second fire also happened at an apartment complex. It happened around 6 p.m. in the 200 block of Waterdown Drive. Fire authorities believe that fire started on the third floor. They said that building had 12 units and everyone living there also had to find somewhere else to stay.
In total, the Red Cross is helping 35 people.
