Man in child peeping case facing more charges

RALEIGH

Last Friday, detectives said John Courtney of Old Bridge Lane was caught taking pictures of a 9-year-old boy in the bathroom at Adventure Landing entertainment center.

On Tuesday, police charged the 46 year old with six counts of indecent liberties involving dozens of other boys, according to court documents.

Raleigh police aren't saying exactly what prompted the new charges in the case, but after Courtney was arrested last week, police decided to get a search warrant for the Cary man's home.

Authorities seized computer equipment after noting in the warrant that Courtney admitted to taking pictures of young boys in both Raleigh and Cary between December 21, 2011 and February of this year.

According to the warrant, he also admitted to storing the pictures on a "hidden hard drive."

Courtney is again free on a $100,000 bond. He is due in court Thursday to face a judge on the latest charges.
