Authorities: Fort Bragg soldier facing sex charges

CUMBERLAND COUNTY

Investigators said Tuesday that on February 25, Sgt. Eric Michael Captain took a boy and a girl -- ages 13 and 15 -- to a Holiday Inn Express on Skibo Road and gave them alcohol. They said Captain then allegedly had sexual intercourse with the 15 year old and performed sex acts with the younger teenager.

"Apparently Mr. Captain meet these [teens] somewhere in the area of Skibo Road and met them, talked to them, invited them back to him motel room ... gave them alcohol and engaged in sexual activities with them," said Debbie Tanna, a Cumberland County Sheriff's Office spokesperson.

The 26-year old buck sergeant in Bravo Battery, 3rd Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment, which is part of the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, has been charged with first and second-degree kidnapping, taking indecent liberties with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Captain is currently being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $61,000 secured bond.
