GOLDSBORO

On July 13, police said 48-year-old Linda Bizzell, 28-year-old Latisha Bizzell, 28-year-old Barbara Spencer and Jasmine Best attempted to kidnap Kimberly Jones after she was allegedly assaulted during an altercation on Level Street.

Jones' mother, Roxanne Faison, intervened during the attempted kidnapping, and was instead kidnapped herself, according to authorities.

Police said Faison was forced into a car against her will and assaulted before she was dropped off about 10 blocks away from where the original altercation happened.

A child was also injured, while attempting to help get Faison out of the vehicle, police said.

Faison was taken by ambulance to Wayne Memorial Emergency Department for treatment of unknown injuries.

On July 16, Jasmine Best was arrested in connection with the incident. Best was charged with second-degree kidnapping, assault inflicting serious injury and simple assault.

Four days later, police arrested Linda Bizzell, Latisha Bizzell and Spencer and charged them with second-degree kidnapping and simple assault.

Linda Bizzell was also charged with two counts of battery on an unborn child, while Latisha Bizzell was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, in addition to the other charges.

Police said three of the suspects are related and are currently being held on bond.
