Nineteen-year-old Donte Caudle is an inmate at the Halifax County Detention Center and asked deputies to retrieve something from his bag on Friday. When they did, they said they found a bag of marijuana.
Caudle was charged with possession of a controlled substance in jail and felony possession of marijuana.
Caudle was placed back into the Halifax County Jail under a $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 17.
