Car repairs cause Raleigh man frustrations

RALEIGH, N.C.

"I go to pick up my car and I noticed the front bumper. This is the front bumper, the crack in it," William Nelson said.

William said there was a crack in the brand new bumper the shop just put on his car. He took the car back to Coat's Auto Body and Paint, but he said they told him they could not fix the bumper because they don't repair body kits.

"I was like if you guys don't do repairs to body kits, why didn't you tell me when you guys received the car? I could have taken it somewhere else," William said. "I didn't pay for a cracked bumper.  I paid my $500 deductible for quality repairs and a good bumper."

When William couldn't get any answers, I reached out to Coat's Auto Body and Paint. The owner got right on it, and a rep contacted William right away.

Within days, William's bumper was repaired.

The owner of Coat's Auto Body and Paint said Mr. Nelson's car should have never left the shop with a cracked bumper, as that is not the way they do business.

She also said she talked with the estimator who handled the claim for William's repair, and that employee is now aware of their expectations going forward.

The owner added that she knows it is a miserable experience having to deal with an accident and that the last thing she wants is for anyone to be unhappy with the repair process.
