"When the bus stop, they don't care, they just go," said her mother Elena Hernandez.
Now Hernandez speaking out, urging other drivers to respect school buses and school zone signs.
Officials say drivers passing school buses when their stop arms are extended is a statewide problem. On just one day this year, bus drivers across North Carolina reported more than 3,000 drivers ignoring stop arms.
Hernandez is asking drivers to be more careful so other children like her daughter aren't killed.
