Durham police search for shooting suspects

DURHAM, N.C.

The shooting happened Aug. 23 in front of an apartment on South Roxboro Street just after 1 a.m. Police said a party was going on inside the residence at the time and a an 18-year-old male was shot multiple times.

Police are trying to locate 19-year-old Torico Antonio Edwards Jr. and 21-year-old Darren Devon Taylor Jr.

Investigators arrested 17-year-old Derek Antonio Huggins two days after the shooting and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and simple assault. He was placed in the Durham County Jail under a $575,000 bond.

Edwards and Taylor are both charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Edwards is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and Taylor is also charged with simple assault.

In addition, Taylor is wanted on charges of kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with a prior incident.
