Deputies responded to a home on White Dogwood Lane in Goldsboro around 2 a.m. They found a man who was seriously injured from a gunshot wound.
The victim, later identified as 23-year-old Uber Ortiz Salas, was transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital Emergency Room where he was later died. Salas lived in the home where the shooting took place.
Investigators have determined a person of interest, and say that person is being sought for questioning.
