The presentation is scheduled as an information item during the board's regularly scheduled meeting, which begins at 5:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting at WCPSS Central Services on Dillard Drive in Cary.
The new proposal comes in response to a June directive from the board of education because a choice-based plan in use for the first time this year got mixed reviews from parents. The new plan will include address-based school assignments that offer more diversity.
After Tuesday's meeting, the Board of Education will spend the next several weeks receiving public comments and reviewing the proposal. The board is scheduled to adopt a final plan in late October.
Members of the public may view the staff presentation and other materials on the WCPSS website.
