Cameron Village to honor shooting victim

RALEIGH, N.C.

The shopping center has set up a fundraiser to help the family of Kathleen Bertrand. Bertrand was an employee at the Pier 1 Imports and the victim of a domestic violence incident.

Bertrand is remembered by Village employees and staff as friendly and helpful colleague and a devoted mother.

In addition, Cameron Village is asking its customers and employees to wear purple in support of domestic violence victims during the weekend of Sept. 15-16.

Bertand's ex-husband, Christopher Bertrand shot Kathleen while she was going to work before taking his own life at an apartment complex nearby.

A fund for the family has been set up here.
